I thought the modified rule of 2,4,8,12,20 was for the Quest only, not for individual castle which remains at 4.

I am fine with whatever is determined to be correct, my first turn 11 with 16 total spaces or the second turn 11 with 18.

As this is my first four player game with the Quest, I will leave it to the more experienced players to decide the best path forward.

sorry George, I overlooked that Andre's recommendation (modified rule of 2,4,8,12,20 points deduction) refers to the Quest only. So your first turn 11 with 16 action points is correct, because one space of your castle was occupied.
