Rules of the Grand Conquest League

Every three months a new round of the Grand Conquest League will take place. The matches of each round are started at the same time.

Each member of the Grand Conquest League submits his turn on this website so the course of the matches is documented.

Each member of the Grand Conquest League has an amount of time for consideration at his disposal: six weeks (42 days) for all his turns (including the recaptures). From the official start date of the first Grand Conquest League round on (for example: January, the first, 12.00 UTC) the time quota of that member who begins is utilised. When he submits his first turn in the forum the time is documented. (Note: Please, choose as time zone "UTC" at first when you adjust the board options!) His time quota is reduced by the elapsed time (at least by one day). At the same time his opponent receives an email from the message board so that he is informed about the first turn of the beginner. From that moment on the time is running and reduces the time quota of the opponent. If a player needs more than a full day as time for consideration (for example 2 days + 1 second) than the elapsed time is rounded up to the next full day. In this example the time quota of the player is reduced by 3 days. Note: When a player submits his turn he has to mention his remaining time quota.

The player who spends all his time quota in first place without achieving an official object of the game will lose the match.

Give-up of a match. If a player considers the situation to be hopeless he could give up. The give-up is counted as a lost match.

The offer of a draw (as with chess) is not allowed. A draw is only possible in case an official object of the game couldn't be reached anymore.

A player...
... who achieves an official object of the game and so wins the match,
... whose opponent spends all his time quota in first place without achieving an official object of the game
... whose opponent gives up,
will get one point.
Each player will get half a point for a draw.

Withdrawal from the Grand Conquest League. A member who doesn't want to participate in the Grand Conquest League anymore can declare his withdrawal. The matches which he was involved in are not counted.
